Book 5 Killer Road Trip
An amateur sleuth, her eccentric uncle, and a road trip that turns deadly.
While still in Vegas, Loretta Sweet and (Uncle) Ichabod McCoy decide to do a little sightseeing and pay a visit to the Hoover Dam via a guided bus tour.
The trip is wrought with mishaps, starting with the bus breaking down. The bus driver is able to fix the bus and the passengers climb aboard for the final leg of the trip.
Uncle Ichabod and Loretta, who are the last to board, discover they are unable to sit together and Loretta ends up sitting next to a passenger who is quiet, and for good reason...he's dead.
Loretta, once again, finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Will her final destination be the local jail?
Book 6 Pups in Peril
After returning from their harrowing trip to Las Vegas, the Sweet twins, Loretta and Lacy, along with Uncle Ichabod, are excited to celebrate Thanksgiving, but the celebration turns to sadness when they discover that their "adopted" Chihuahua, Barkley, has gone missing.
The trio, along with Barkley's owner, Savannah Dogwood, set out to find their beloved pup and soon discover that several other small pedigree dogs have disappeared from Misery and the nearby town of Glimmer.
Are the missing pets an eerie coincidence...or has someone targeted the furry friends for something much more sinister?
Book 7 Dying to Get Married
The Thanksgiving holiday is over and Loretta Sweet, vowing to work off some post-holiday pounds, heads out for an evening stroll along with her twin sister, Lacy, and the neighbor’s dog, Barkley.
Barkley breaks loose from his leash and races across Mossy Manor Bed and Breakfast property. When the girls finally catch up with him, they find him in an empty building, standing guard over a young woman's body.
Lacy and Loretta quickly discover that the poor victim had more enemies than friends, including Savannah Dogwood, their neighbor.
The girls start digging around and the list of suspects quickly grows with Savannah as the prime suspect.
Can Loretta and Lacy clear Savannah's name, or is she, as all the evidence seems to indicate, capable of murder?

Loretta's twin sister, Lacy, who is desperate to win the mystery scavenger hunt's grand prize, a shopping spree, talks her sister into joining the hunt.
The Sweet sisters, along with Uncle Ichabod and their friend and neighbor, Savannah, find much more than the items listed on the scavenger hunt when the clues lead them to the town’s abandoned drive-in movie theater.

I really do like this box set and even though I am flying right through it, I am glad that it is available on kindle unlimited. I wish the author would write more because this is just a very interesting series.
I love the Southern Sleuths. The characters are wonderful. These were great short stories So much fun to read, just wish they had been a little longer. Hope is a wonderful writer and I would definitely recommend this book set and all of her books. The reader will not be disappointed with any of her books. And I am looking forward to more books by Hope Callaghan.

I love Hope Callaghan's cozy mysteries. If you're looking, blood & gore, sex and cussing, you don't need to bother. However, if you want stories with great, quirky characters and just want to relax and enjoy reading, these are the books.
I just love this author. She is amazing and I mean it. The characters are wonderful and the storylines are always bright, interesting and heartwarming.
Getting to know more about the Sweet twins and inhabitants of Misery is a great way to spend a weekend. Seemingly innocent, the town has quite the inhabitants and happenings! One book leads into the next and soon you are yearning to know more about Loretta, Lacy, and Uncle Ichabod. Sure enough, things happen to keep you turning pages.
More bodies. More of the townspersons killing fellow townspeople. Nobody is excluded as a killer. However, by book 8, the twins were actually in danger, life-threatening kind of danger. Finally! Sorry.. It's just that when you keep reading book 1, 2, 3, 4, etc... it's the same old story over and over. Finally book 8 was different.
